The Norton is a timeless two-storey oak framed garage with versatile loft space and spacious ground floor bays - designed for storage, work or accommodation.
The Norton is our original room-over oak framed garage - a two-storey building with generous open bays below and a fully useable loft space above. The loft is supported by deep oak beams, allowing a spacious, unobstructed ground floor area for vehicle housing.
Handcrafted using traditionally jointed green oak including substantial framing timbers, knee braces, and our signature concealed weatherproofing system. It’s a flexible solution for secure oak garaging, workshops, carports, or multi-use garden buildings.

The Norton’s generous 5.80m deep bays are ideal for storing large vehicles, motorbikes, or creating open-fronted oak carports. Many use the space for classic cars, garden machinery, or as a secure workshop with added lifestyle flexibility.
The upper floor is what makes The Norton truly versatile. Accessed via an internal or external staircase, the loft can become a home office, bedsit, annexe, games room, studio or gym—perfect for remote working, hobbies, or guest accommodation.
Optional features like dormer windows, gable balconies, and roof lights can be added to bring in natural light, increase headroom, and enhance the character of the space—making it a bright, functional and attractive extension of your home.
Due to its height (over 4m), planning permission is usually required for The Norton. We can provide detailed planning drawings for a small fee (refundable upon ordering), making the approval process smoother.
